Occupational Therapy for Children
Helping little hands, growing minds, and confident kids thrive – one meaningful moment at a time.
When everyday tasks feel big for your child, it can leave you with questions, worries, and a whole lot of Googling. We get it. At our clinic, we offer Occupational Therapy (OT) as part of an integrated, early intervention approach – so families don’t have to piece care together on their own. We meet children where they are, build on what they already do well, and support skills that matter most for daily life, play, and participation.
What Is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational Therapy helps children develop the skills they use to take part in everyday activities, like playing, dressing, eating, drawing, following routines, and interacting with others. For young children, “occupations” are the important things of childhood: play, learning, self-care, and connecting with family and peers.
In OT, we focus on how your child uses their body, senses, and thinking skills together. Through playful, purposeful activities, we help children build coordination, strength, attention, emotional regulation, and independence – always in ways that feel engaging and achievable.
Why it matters:
When children gain confidence in these skills, it can show up in big ways – smoother mornings, more joyful play, easier transitions, and a growing sense of “I can do this.”

Our Approach to Occupational Therapy
We believe the best progress happens when therapy feels supportive, fun, and connected to real life. Our Occupational Therapy services are part of a collaborative care model that may also include Speech Language Therapy, Physical Therapy and Behavioral Therapy using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), so goals align and support is consistent across settings.
When you work with us, you can expect:
- Play-based sessions designed around your child’s interests
- Strength-based support that builds on your child’s abilities
- Clear explanations without overwhelming jargon
- Collaboration across therapies for whole-child support
- Strategies that fit naturally into home and daily routines
Our goal is to help children practice skills in ways that feel meaningful, so progress is carried beyond the therapy room and into everyday life.
Who Is Occupational Therapy For?
Occupational Therapy may be a good fit for children who:
- Have difficulty with fine motor skills like grasping crayons, utensils, or buttons
- Seek or avoid sensory experiences (sounds, textures, movement, touch)
- Struggle with transitions, routines, or emotional regulation
- Find self-care tasks like dressing, feeding, or grooming challenging
- Have trouble with attention, play skills, or following multi-step activities

We also support caregivers who:
- Want practical tools to help their child at home and in the community
- Are navigating an early diagnosis or exploring next steps
- Are looking for coordinated care rather than isolated services
- Value a collaborative, neurodiversity-affirming approach
You don’t need all the answers before starting, curiosity and care are more than enough.

I brought my 3 month old to CWO for OT due to her not taking a bottle. We worked with an OT, who was amazing and so helpful. She went the extra mile to get the care we needed and to check all possible reasons as to why we were having feeding issues. My baby has now graduated and taking a sippy like a champ! Highly recommend working with CWO!
